Should Energy drinks be consumed?

The supplements which provide us with energy are defined as Energy supplements. The substances present in these supplements may include sugar, caffeine and vitamin B. Now days a wide range of these supplements are present in the market. These are in the form of energy drinks or various capsules. Energy drinks are the main source used now days to get energy. But the question arises are these energy drinks safe to use? Energy drinks can have long term hazardous effects. They can cause various heart related disorders because their consumption causes our heart beat to accelerate to dangerous levels. According to a research the blood pressure rates of various individuals who consumed these drinks elevated to very high level, so researchers prohibit those with heart problems to use these drinks. Moreover caffeine is present in large quantities in these drinks which is the root cause of various diseases like cancer, severe mood swings and other cardiovascular problems.

A research showed that the caffeine content of a single energy drink is ten times as compared to 14 cans of colas and these high caffeine levels can lead to caffeine intoxication which may result in restlessness, anxiety tremors, nervousness, rapid heartbeat an can even cause death. These drinks also contain sugar in high quantities which may result in energy crash and weight gain, it may also result in dehydration. Taurine is yet another compound which is added to energy drinks and we don’t know the hazardous effects it will pose on us after long time use. So it is better to use some nutritional supplements which provide energy rather than using energy drinks.

Ginseng and fish oil are some of the nutritional supplements because they make you energetic even after a stressed and hectic schedule. There is also an enzyme which is named as Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) which is present in cells of all organisms. If your body has surplus amount of this enzyme then it would provide you with energy and would avoid lethargy. Some food sources are rich in this enzyme. These foods include meat, fish, nuts, vegetable, vegetable oils and seeds. Nutritional supplements can be used as a good alternative of this enzyme. So instead of using hazardous energy drinks it is better to use natural products which can boost your energy and won’t even cause any damage to your health.
