Best After Hours Shoes

A lot of us start the week already in anticipation of the next weekend, or at least the next time we’ll meet up with friends for lunch, dinner, drinks or happy hour. The 9 to 5 crowd is a common site at restaurants, bars and lounges across the nation, relaxing and enjoying the fact that another day is behind them. It’s important to keep that fine line between coworkers and so it’s important to still dress the part. As most workers come straight from the office, attire should still be somewhat professional.

Most of us have a section in our closet dedicated to work clothes and one dedicated to weekend wear. But about with shoes? Is there anything in between just-for-work work high heel shoes and just-for-whatever flip flops? The answer is yes. Shoes are becoming more versatile and more wearable for multiple occasions. Not every workplace enforces a full-fledged business dress code. Some are business casual. Some are just casual. But that doesn’t mean that you should throw all caution to the wind and just roll out of bed and throw on anything that’s clean. How you present yourself says a lot about your work ethic and leaves a lasting impression in the mind of all those you meet.

For those corporate buttoned-up type jobs, you might wear a polished shoe during the day, but what about for after hours? It’s a pretty safe bet that you can carry your work shoes over to your dinner meeting. But in fact, you might actually want to choose something a little more loosened up. For women, a tasteful peep toe and fresh camisole can make you look like you’re ready to conquer the meeting in style. Anne Klein shoes have some nice selections available.) For guys, a pair of suede loafers adds a nice touch to a sport coat and slacks and will have you looking like you’re a man to be reckoned with. Kenneth Cole Reaction shoes have a great selection of classic modern loafers).

If you work in more of a dressed down environment, happy hour can be a time to relax and unwind. While we don’t ever recommend sneakers, you can still be comfortable and chic in flats. For ladies, ballet flats are the perfect balance between work and play. For guys, a pair of great leather boots can do wonders for a pair of distressed jeans. Pay attention to the details. It’s okay to be casual, but just make sure that you’re not crossing the line to weekend or beach wear. As I always so, it’s always better to be the best dressed person in the room than to be underdressed and uncomfortable.
