Special Care for Special Shoes
Different types of shoes should be taken care in variety ways. If you are not used to a particular material then it is advisable that you should consult with the vendor at the time of purchasing it for the right kind of shoe care kit. For example, when you are buying the discount shoes of suede or nubuck for the first time, it should be borne in mind that such shoes cannot be polished, as there is no polishing kit available so far in the market for these kinds of shoes.
In that, case how to maintain such a sort of shoes. This kind of footwear are extremely attractive at the time of purchase as they are free from any kind of dirt and stains and hence people tend to fall for it at first sight. They do not come in many colors. There are only a few shades available in this type of shoes. Black, brown, and a few other shades are also available depending upon the brands of shoes that you are purchasing. Whatever might be the brand, the Rocket dog shoes care kit will consists of gentle brush suede. It is important that the shoes are brushed and removed from all lose dirt and restored to nap regularly after every use. It is only then you can protect this kind of footwear in a long-term basis.
When you do not take care of such Kenneth Cole reaction shoes regularly, they are spoiled in even just a few weeks time and the money spent towards purchasing such shoes would be in total vain. Generally, these shoes are dearer than many other materials available in the market. In the case of oiled nubuck shoes, one needs to apply the conditioner in order to preserve them safely. In case of any accidental stains that bother the shoe looks, immediate treatment is necessary. There are solvent bases suede dusters, stain removers and cleaners that are available in the market for affordable prices. One needs to use them to bring back the shoes to their original color. The interesting yet irritating fact is that most of the stains are so hard that they cannot be removed in house. In that case, it is really worth to take it to a shoe repair shop where the professionals would take care of the rest in removing the stain for you. Charges are dearer yet for such tasks.

Prom Shoes Galore
As spring winds down and summer heats up, it can only mean one thing for teens in high school: prom time! Prom is one of the biggest events of the year, so of course you’ll want to look your best. It’s a time to get noticed and show your grown-up side. It’s a time to impress all your fellow classmates with great style and taste. From head to toe, whether you’re a guy or a girl, your prom gear has got to deliver.
For girls, prom is a time to get all gussied up and spend a day prepping and pampering yourself in anticipation of the big event. From hair to nails to makeup and more, it’s almost like a mini-wedding. Once you’ve got “the dress”, the next thing on the shopping list is shoes. Finding the perfect pair of prom shoes can be a daunting task. You have to find something that goes with your dress, doesn’t make you taller than your date, and that you can actually walk and dance in. A lot of girls like metallic strappy heels for prom, and those work well with any color dress. Rocket dog shoes make a wide variety of heels that won’t break the bank. The silver “Lafayette” heel is a good choice and isn’t too high, while the “Ethel heel” in gold is stylish and subtly sexy.
If you’re looking for something in black, Boutique 9 shoes makes some great options that are fun and age appropriate. A couple of our favorites include the “Glamy” heels, which are black stacked peep-toe heels with a black and white striped bow on top, or the “Derry” heels, which have lace applique and bow detailing.
For guys, you can go a couple different directions: classic tux with shiny polished shoes, suit with dress shoes, or suit with skate shoes. I’m not sure when this trend caught on, but I’ve seen many a picture with a well styled prom couple, including the guy sporting a brand new pair of white skate shoes. I’ve even seen it at weddings. This is definitely a style statement, but as long as you own it, I really don’t see an issue. If you want to go the traditional route, Kenneth Cole Reaction shoes offers some cool styles that aren’t too stuffy. Their silver loafers and square toed Oxfords can add a nice touch. If you want to go more California-kid, then DC Shoe Co. can outfit you with some kicks that are stylish and relaxed.

Flip Flop Dos and Don’ts
The flip flop is a fabulous piece of footwear. Hands down it is one of the most comfortable, affordable and fun types of shoes around. Flip flops are great for summer, vacation attire and lounging by the pool. Flip flops can also work for other occasions as well, but the key is to know how they should be worn and how not to abuse this symbol of surf culture.
Some people will tell you that flip flops are never appropriate. These are also the same people that will tell you chewing gum is unacceptable. To those naysayers, we say, live a little! Enjoy life and enjoy the freedom that flip flops provide! Sure, flip flops have their place (and no, it’s not at the workplace), but that doesn’t mean that you can’t sport them during other occasions. In fact, flip flops have become so popular that they are now a staple of destination weddings. What could be more formal than a wedding? Well, if you’re lucky enough to go away to celebrate this momentous day, the last thing you want to be is uncomfortable. Flip flops offer the liberty that your tired toes crave. They look great with sundresses, maxi dresses and even fancy dresses. You just have to find the appropriate flip flop to go with your attire. Coach shoes offers some really nice fancy flip flops, suitable for special occasions, or just when you want to give your toes a little treat. They also have some really spunky options for casual jelly flip flops in bright hues that are fun for summer.
Believe it or not, flip flops can also be worn with pants – whether it’s with jeans, capris or lightweight linen pants. Since jeans are typically longer, we’d recommend an elevated platform flip flop. Rocket Dog shoes has some chunky ones that are absolutely adorable. For capris or linen pants, go with something that has a little decoration, beading or sparkle. These will let your feet shine and be the center of attention. Boutique 9 shoes’ “Pammy” sandals have small studs on them, for an added edge, while Kenneth Cole shoes has a Glam Session pair of flip flops with beading that is sure to make any outfit pop.
Flip flops may not be right for work or church, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t wear them for just about any other occasion. With so many styles to choose from, you’re sure to find one that will make your toes happy!

The Teen Shoe Revolution
Growing up in Orange County it’s hard not to notice how competitive it is for kids. But nowadays, it seems like there’s more and more pressure to keep up with the latest and greatest fashion trends at an earlier and earlier age. But it’s not just a Southern California trend, in fact, it’s happening across the nation. So what is this next crop of consumers wearing? And what brands are flying off the shelves faster than they can meet the demand? Here we take a look at some of the most popular shoes for pre-teens and teenagers.
When skateboarding hit the street scene in the late seventies, no one could have predicted that it would have such an impact on shaping pop culture and fashion. But today, the skateboarding style of clothing has carved its own niche in the teen, pre-teen and even infant market. Brands like DC Shoe Co, a popular brand of skate shoes, have seen much success, not only through its distribution of shoes, but also through its entire line of skateboards, hoodies and apparel. With bright colors and eye-catching graphics, skate brands are on trend with everything from retro styles to punk rock chic. Skate brands are taking note of what’s happening in the fashion world, and they’re incorporating those trends into designs that have teens begging their parents for more.
Skate shoes are just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to hot teen trends. Though the once masculine style shoes have been a constant hit with guys, girls have shown increased interest in certain styles. But visit any skate shop and you’ll see a growing portion of the floor plan dedicated to young women. Taking cues from California-chic style, brands like Rocket Dog shoes have soared in popularity with the ladies. In fact, it’s not just teen girls that you see sporting the styles – it’s their moms too. More and more, we are seeing the lines blurred between where mom and dad shop and where they shop for their teenager.
Paying close attention to celebs is now a common teen pastime. And with Cameron Diaz and Britney Spears seen rocking sheepskin boots with everything from tracksuits to cutoff shorts, you can be sure that teen girls want in on the trend. EMU boots have been a big seller among Generation Y, being worn year-round for that I’m-not-trying-too-hard look that often consists of distressed denim and flannel shirts.

Great Ways to Store Shoes
If you’re a shoe lover like me, the only thing that’s on your mind when you bring home another pair of shoes, is “Where am I going to put these?” Granted I’m not as obsessed as Carrie Bradshaw, whose husband built her a walk-in closet that is unrivaled to any real life closet, I still like to consider myself a fashion-forward individual who has an ample amount of closet space devoted to shoes, shoes and more shoes.
Every season, I try to go through my closet and clean and organize my shoe and clothing collection. And every season, I think I get a little bit better at it. First, I take an inventory of all items and then I figure out the best way to categorize. I am definitely of the belief that I like to see everything in my closet. But with shoes, it’s important to store them properly so you get the most mileage out of them, while still retaining that like-new look.
I have tried shoe racks of every shape and size. I’ve tried hanging shoe racks and those that sit on the ground. I’m not necessarily a fan of the over the door shoe racks, as I feel like my high heel shoes aren’t getting the protection that they deserve. I find that those type of shoe racks work better for casual loafers and flat shoes like flip flops, or my beloved Rocket Dog shoes, of which I own several pairs.
Shoe shelves are great if you have the room. In fact, one of my girlfriends just had her closet re-done with cedar shoe shelves, and I have to admit, they smell pretty nice. Space is definitely a concern in any closet, but the great thing about built-in shelves is that you can use them for displaying folded t-shirts, scarves and your handbag collection too. If you choose to store your shoes on shelves, I would recommend either keeping the original boxes, or putting them in clear shoe boxes where you can easily see the content. Some women even go so far as to photograph their shoes and then stick it on the outside of the box for quick location. This is a great idea, although I can honestly say, it’s still on my list of things to do.
Shoes are an investment and they should be treated as such. Sure you probably have discount shoes and discount boots in your closet, and you probably own a pair of way-to-expensive shoes as well. But no matter the shoe, it deserves to be protected and cared for, instead of just thrown into a heaping pile on the floor. The extra care that you put into storing your shoes now will pay off in the years and seasons ahead.

California Cool Kicks
Visit any southern California beach city and you're sure to notice the local style. The laid back vibe and dressed down chic make for a carefree attitude that's more reminiscent of weekend get-a-ways than buttoned up business. From "Surf City USA" (aka Huntington Beach) to the Santa Barbara coast, it's all about comfort from head to toe.
Sure, you might be used to seeing skate shoes on your teenage kid, but look no farther than So. Cal, and you'll see them on guys of all ages too. In fact, the middle aged guy driving his convertible down Pacific Coast Highway may very well be rocking a pair of skate shoes. Whether paired with hoodies and distressed jeans or shorts and t-shirts, skate shoes promote an attitude that says you care about being comfortable. Brands such as DC Shoe Co. have seen continuous growth as the once regional California cool style is emulated across the nation. Sold mainly in local skate stores, brands like DC Shoe Company have expanded their product offerings to include more styles, designs and colors than ever before.
Interestingly, many girls have adopted skate shoes into their wardrobes, as the lines between fashion grow more ambiguous. However, you are probably more likely to see Rocket Dog Shoes adorning the feet of California surfer girls wanting to show off their pedicures. Flip flops are a staple of west coast style and the current trending is toward embellished designs that sport studs or rhinestones. Platform flip flops can be seen throughout the summer days, worn with cut-off shorts and maxi dresses, but come fall, don't be surprised if you see them worn with jeans as well. After all, California weather really never gets that brutal, so why not take the opportunity to be comfortable and wear what makes you happy?
When you first think of California, things like palm trees and glittery movie star glam likely come to mind, but that's not all the sunshine state has to offer. In fact, the people and the beach culture really have had a lot of influence on shaping style and cool classics that have carved out their own niche in the fashion world. Cali's street chic sensibility shows that by combining functional pieces like skate shoes or flip flops with lightweight layers and fabrics, you can not only achieve a livable day to day style, but that you can look great doing it.
