The iPad has enjoyed undisputed good run in the market for the simple reason of lack of any real competition. Seeking this ideal opportunity, Samsung Phones have launched the Samsung Galaxy S, which has become an ideal competitor for iPad.
The market was afloat with rumors on the credibility of Samsung Galaxy S before its launch. The Samsung Galaxy S went for sale in Europe in October 2010 and hit the states market in November. The Samsung Galaxy S is as good a phone as it promises to be; however, it will not manage to cross the iPadsales. iPad sold a whopping 15 million in 2010 and considering the 16 and a half million tabs sold in 2010, the picture becomes pretty much clear on the market choice.
When it comes to the screen size, the iPad wins the race with a clear margin from the Samsung Galaxy S.
The Galaxy S seems to be a bigger brother of the Android phone with elongated screens. The iPad allows you to watch movies and play games with a bigger thrill because of the bigger screen size; hence, people are more happierto choose them. Samsung Galaxy S may be convenient to carry when compared to the bulkier iPad, but still people prefer it. The browser option in the iPad is much quicker to use than in the Galaxy S. Not only this, but due to bigger screen size it has also become convenient to browse through options at a glance compared to The Samsung Galaxy S.
The next and most important factor is that the iPad comes with a no strings attached package i.e. you have no commitments or plans attached to it once you have purchased it. However, in the case of Galaxy S, you commit to paying a 24 month installment and the wireless plan too.Again, when it comes to media applications iPad scores over the Samsung Galaxy S due to some limitations. Coming to the application part, iPad has applications specially designed for it, whereas Samsung Galaxy S lacks in it. The Samsung phones have two cameras, both in rear and back andthey score over their counterpart there.
Other features include nearly the double touch screen area, bigger battery life where iPad leaves Samsung Galaxy S behind. The launch of iPad 2 would see the completion really build up.
