Benefits Of A Pay As You Go Wireless Service
So you are thinking of getting wireless service or switching carriers. You may be debating between getting a phone with a contract or go with a no contract phone. There are benefits to both. Sometimes a wireless company will give you free phones if you sign a contract with that provider. The price difference, even if you do get free phones is getting smaller. Pay as you go phone services are lowering the prices of their equipment as more and more customers choose to stay with them longer, and why wouldn’t they? There are a lot of benefits to getting pay as you go phone service.
No Contracts
The biggest benefit to prepaid wireless service is that there are no contracts. You do not have to stay with a company for one or two years. That means you can change your mind. Imagine that for some reason you can’t finish your contract, because you did not like the service, or you lost income or whatever reason. A company that has you under contract can charge you hundreds of dollars depending on your terms and conditions. No such thing will happen if you go with no contract phones. You do not have to spend the same amount every month, and some companies offer minutes that do not expire so you can carry minutes month to month.
You are more in control
With the economic downturn, many of us have had to keep a tighter budget. Imagine you have a budget and at the end of the month you get a wireless bill much larger than you expected because you went over the limit on your minutes. That can make a bad economic situation a lot worse. That is something you never have to worry about with a prepaid phone service. You are in control because you spend only for the minutes you have already bought.
No Credit Checks
Because there is no contract a prepaid wireless carrier will not perform a credit check. If you have a couple of dents in your credit history, carriers can ask you to put up a deposit before you can have a wireless contract with them. That amount can be in the hundreds of dollars and if you are late with your payments that can also affect your credit rating. Not with a pay as you go phone service, because you are free to cancel or suspend the service any time you want and therefore no credit check is necessary.
